WHAT IS A LEARNING LOG

Learning log is a vehicle that is used to assess learning from experience. Logs are an increasingly popular tool, often used in conjunction with work placements, work-based learning or courses that are underpinned by a philosophy that action learning is a pedagogical approach that best achieves learning outcomes. Learning logs are viewed firmly as an assessment. It records learning experiences and reflection. ( research methods), reflection can be viewed as part of a more complex learning process in reaction to action learning ( Revans 1978) and experiential learning ( kolbs 11984).

Kolb (1984) offered a more detailed view of experiential learning that includes reflection ( or reflective observation), as an element of a more extensive learning cycle. Experiential learning is very much founded upon the concept of experiential learning which concept of experiential learning explores the cyclical pattern of all learning from experience through reflection and conceptualizing to action and on to further experience (Kolb 1984). Concrete Experience; reflective observation; abstract conceptualization; and active experimentation does not state first, second, or third nor is it things I learnt, questions I still have or challenges I faced-what? So what?, Now What?. Therefore; a learning log is a reflective journal to monitor and reflect upon learning is considered so it is an effective tool to help students develop cognitive awareness of their learning.

THE INCOMPETENCE OF TEACHERS TIMESPAN ON ASSIGNMENTS AFFECTING EMOTIONAL FUNCTIONING AND LEARNING DISABILITIES

Some teachers just don’t understand children heart and minds; they only care for themselves and their stupid timelines. If only that the cat could speak; people would know that he needs time to do their work.

ENHANCING LEARNING BY INTEGRATION PRACTICE AND THEORY

Although experience may be the foundation of learning. It does not automatically or even necessarily always lead to it ( Boud et al., 1993).

Using an active learning environment can enhance the integration of practice and theory in the classroom. We think of active learning as using instructional activities involving students doing things and thinking about what they are doing. Students are involved in more than listening; Less emphasis is placed on transmitting information and more on development of students skills: Students are involved in higher order thinking ( analysis, synthesis, evaluation); Students are engaged in activities ( such as writing, reading, discussion, and observation); Greater emphasis is placed on students exploration of their attitudes and values. ( Bonwell & Eison, 1991). An active learning environment should promote students interest in subject and encourage their participation.

What about : Kahoot; SWAY, Flip grid, Padlet, Wakelet, Mindomo, Photostory or even Pritzi. These are tools that could have been used to allow learners their expression in content learning in a creative way instead of being stonewalled with directed theory which shows only onside instead of what was written, read, discussed and observed.
