What the World Needs Now

Remember the song that says, “What the world needs now is love, sweet love”? Secular songs are usually way off base, but this one was nearly right. 

What the world needs now is God’s love. 

The world is starving for the love of God. Every person has been created with a desperate need for divine love. They search for it in countless ways, but there is only one way they’ll ever be fulfilled.

What’s the solution? 

You are! As a born-again Christian, you are an open door into the love of God for the people with whom you come in contact. You have the power and the privilege to love them with the God kind of love. Is it easy? No. It’s the same way Jesus loves you, and it’s living inside you. But it takes practice! It takes a cultivating of the fruit of the spirit inside you. 

When you are patient, kind, not rude, not envious, not boastful, and you forgive quickly and don’t gossip, you stand out! And you’re demonstrating the love of God to those around you.

You can love so deeply and so well, people will know just by watching you that you’re a disciple of Jesus. They’ll literally find His love in you…and that’s what they’ve been looking for all along.
